My unique background unites a rigorous academic foundation with extensive professional experience in both the commercial art world and private wealth management.
For the past ten years, I have partnered with a broad range of clients to build, manage, and care for their art collections at one of the world’s most prestigious auction houses and multiple ultra-high-net-worth family offices.
I bring to my work a sophisticated knowledge of how the art market functions alongside a holistic understanding of the day-to-day operations and strategic priorities of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth households.
I graduated magna cum laude from Yale University with a degree in art history. My academic focus was on post-war contemporary art and the emerging use of technology as both artistic medium and subject matter in the early 21st century. I also studied at the Sorbonne in Paris and was a curatorial research assistant for the Yale University Art Gallery’s Contemporary Art Department.
My career in the arts began at Sotheby’s in San Francisco, where I worked with a large portfolio of clients on all aspects of the consigning and buying processes, planned and executed high-value exhibitions and exclusive events, and managed day-to-day operations. I also coordinated key collection services for our clients and traveled throughout Northern California to oversee appraisals, shipments, condition reports, installations and de-installations, among other activities. In doing so, I was exposed to some of California’s greatest collections and engaged first-hand with some of the most singular works of art in private holdings.
Since leaving the auction world in 2018, I have built out the in-house art collection management programs at two single-family offices and served as the close advisor to multiple ultra-high-net-worth clients on major acquisitions, prominent museum loans, and the most effective ways to track and manage their works of art.
In conjunction with this strategic oversight of my clients’ art holdings, I functioned as the primary point of contact and coordinator for all critical collection activities, ranging from insurance to conservation, security to storage, record digitization to contract review. During my tenure as an UHNW family office Vice President, I also advised clients on a range of other priorities including cash management, financial reporting, philanthropy, trust and estate planning, household staffing, confidentiality, and real estate.
I am passionate about bringing professional, thoughtful, and expert management to private collections and advising individuals, family offices, and wealth management firms on the best practices for stewarding works of art. With finely-honed relationship management skills, sophisticated communication, operational excellence, extreme discretion, adept organizational acumen, and deep subject-matter expertise, I am an excellent fit for engaged collectors and savvy investors who are committed to preserving and growing the value of their art holdings.
